Description:
Serenade Op.25, composed in 1801, is a suite in seven movements. The Trio for Strings, Op.3, composed in 1794, is a work full of Beethoven's adventurous spirit, with its use of heavy notes and melodic devices. At the time, this form of music was much sought after, and various arrangements were made for upper-class families, but here it is performed in its original form. Camerata Cologne's traverso player Karl Kaiser uses classical flute and is joined by an ensemble of string players on both modern and period instruments, who perform with brilliant virtuosity.
