Sugarbush Whiskey from Vikre Distillery in Duluth, Minnesota was introduced in November 2015. Their first of many experimental releases, this whiskey is distilled from a mash bill of 60% corn, 25% barley, and 15% rye before being twice-aged. First, in used port barrels with maplewood staves for less than 24 months, before finishing in bourbon barrels that aged maple syrup. It's bottled at 44% ABV.
Nose: Maple Syrup.
Palate: Light but complex in flavor with notes of maple, roasted cherry, leather, and yellow cake.
Finish: Sweet and rich.
